Graduate engineer may have some practical work experience because he or she may not have yet earned the engineering license or the other essential credentials necessary to allow for independent, unsupervised, or consultative engineering work. Graduate engineers are not allowed to perform the work of licensed engineers, as they have yet to achieve their own license or other credentials.
